After EGCIC I in Bremen (2019) and ECGIC II in Valencia (2022), the growing ECG movement is celebrating its 3rd scientific conference from June 3-5, 2024, in Leeuwarden (NL), together with Hanze University of Applied Sciences, NHL Stenden and the research institute Wetsus.
The conference is about “Converging Future-Fit Economic Models: Advancing Just and Sustainable Regions”. It unfolds over three phases: Theory (Day 1), sustainable practices (Day 2) and regional implementation (Day 3). We will collaborate closely with the region of Northfriesland and publish a manifesto at the end of the conference.
A special highlight of the event will be a roundtable discussion on June 3rd, with representatives of five eminent future-fit economic models:

The discussion will be moderated by the expert on economic transition Katy Wiese from the European Environmental Bureau (EEB). My contributions consist, next to the participation in the roundtable, in a key note on “Future-fit economic models: What do they have in common – how can they join forces?” and a workshop on “Limited individual ecological consumption budgets” in Parallel session 2, both on the same day (June 3rd). I also will pronounce the greeting note on behalf of the four organizers and close the conference on June 5th. |
